Without doubt, one of the most beautiful and interesting adventures, hiking this summer, summer cumnaticii largely dedicated my life Egle and our ordinary mortals but eager tourists, was that this year the Grand Canyon - the fourth in the hierarchy, but this time not arhicunoscutele areas in the south or the north but in the west of the Grand Canyon in HUALAPAI Indian Reservation, where it is located another engineering masterpiece of America and the world: the bridge "Skywalk" engineering curiosity located just 2 ½ hours from Las Vegas.
To try to include Skywalk phenomenon as a whole, creates the need to explain the importance and reason for building this bridge here. Hualapai Indian Tribe, which is composed of, in about 2000 members, the tribe that are owners of about one million acres of land on the west coast of the Grand Canyon and that by accepting this construction on their land, building that has dream in 1996 was David Jin, a businessman who otherwise supported spending $ 30 million to create this structure and thereby providing Hualapai tribe chance to come back at the forefront of human civilization.
Like an eagle or hawk flying over the Grand Canyon, so you can you feel when you walk on the Skywalk and stay stunned the abyss that is beneath you.
Without a past too much, the Skywalk is open to the public in March 2007, this building and inginerasca masterpiece is now the tallest structure created by man, at 4,000 feet - 1319.2 meters making it taller than any skyscraper the world including even large buildings such as Sears Tower - Chicago Empire State Buiding - New York, Sydney Tower - Australia and Bank of China.
The walls and floor are made of glass bridge which gives you the opportunity to direct in depth look at the canyon, glass supported by a steel structure of 1 million pounds - 453 592 kg maximum capacity is 120 people at the same time, even if resistance is much higher, the bridge access to video cameras or any rucsaculet or bag is forbidden, but largely because of security and exclusivity of the Hualapai tribe.
Bridge is horseshoe-shaped passage that steps can be 10 feet wide - 3 meters and length of 70 feet - 21.3 feet.
The bridge is only the beginning of a great dream of the tribe to develop tourism in this part of the Grand Canyon.
"If you were a bridge, Grand Canyon would probably be the last place you want to be positioned, constructed and this in large part due to winds up to 90 miles per hour - 150 km per hour coming in like tornadoes vertical an unbearable weather condition of any bridge on the planet! "
After putting up a great project, Skywalk has grown to withstand winds up to 100 miles-160 miles per hour that can beat the 8 different directions. Also mentioned is resistance test which was submitted in May 2005, one of dozens of tests before being opened to the public, test the bridge to withstand a weight of 71 compared with 747 planes full, that is not Weighing less than 71 million pounds - 32,500 tons.
And so the Hualapai tribe tourism revived, one remaining question more unexpectedly: When is your visit there?
Hoping that you have opened your appetite to visit this marvel, please vote and watch the following movie, movie where you can assist us in a dance with the Indians in this area.
This trip has been worth every cent that used here and at the same time we established a peace of mind that gave us confidence that through our visit, our expenses and donations made by the account there but these stunt to you, our dear friends, through it all we have contributed least to recognize the Hualapai nation but also to recognize extra-human efforts of those who created this edficiu!

is indeed impressive, but can anyone believe that we, in the country (romania) have monumental glass works, unique in the world: two bridges completely made of glass, with length: 1. 5.2 m and 2. 4.8 m, the building which did not use any metal gram ... bridges are circulated inside the two locations, who does not believe, I may contact: John daju - daju_ioan@yahoo.com - Bucharest - Romania have
the challenge perfectly feasible: glass platform about 6 m width and unlimited length (no matter how great ... herb can also think I'm kidding, but across the entire platform will not only see the glass (or a gram of metal)
