A few days before it closes for the winter season because of snow, I went to Aspen via Independence Pass.
One very beautiful areas in the Rocky Mountains is undoubtedly pass or step on Colorado Highway 82 between Leadville and Aspen, Independence Step is located at an altitude of 12,095 ft - 3686 m only 12 miles - approx. 20 km from Aspen.
The Independence Pass is in San Isabel forest near Mount Elbert, the highest mountain in Colorado 14,433 ft, 4400 m and the second in North America after Mount Whitney in California which has a height of 14,505 ft - 4421 m
The area is very beautiful and actually stop you from 5 to 5 minutes to do a picture, what happened with me, but behaved Volvica copy even if the pressure altitude try to tune.
